Ashland University Professor Receives Honor

Dr. Kristine Parsons, associate professor of accounting and chair of the Department of Accounting/Information Systems at Ashland University, has been selected to receive the Ursel K. Albers Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) Campus Advocate of the Year Award.

Parsons, who was selected from a large number of applicants, will receive the engraved award at the National IMA Conference in New Orleans on June 23.

The Campus Advocate of the Year Award is given to a professor who has made significant contributions to the IMA overall and the IMA student members in particular.

“The IMA is fortunate to have numerous faculty who function as campus advocates,” Parsons said. “It is an honor to be chosen for this award.”

Ashland University, ranked in the top 200 colleges and universities in U.S. News and World Report’s National Universities category for 2013, is a mid-sized, private university conveniently located a short distance from Akron, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio. Ashland University (www.ashland.edu) values the individual student and offers a unique educational experience that combines the challenge of strong, applied academic programs with a faculty and staff who build nurturing relationships with their students.
