What to Do Before and After a Work-Related Accident
Presented by Lorrie Goodnight, BWC

As a BWC business consultant, Lorrie Goodnight partners with the Akron and Ashland area Governorís Economic Development representative, local chambers of commerce and business associations to resolve issues affecting business expansion or retention. Her duties also include working with employers in Medina, Portage, Summit, Stark and Wayne counties to implement proven risk-management strategies through various cost-control programs.

Lorrieís background and experience are in personnel and benefits administration. She joined BWC in 1994 as a regional administrative manager, responsible for human resources, fiscal, claims, automation, and labor and real estate functions in the Northeast Region. Prior to joining BWC, Lorrie served as personnel manager for the Village of St. Edwards and had previous personnel management experience with a Texas construction company. Lorrie is a graduate of Kent State University with majors in both business administration and personnel management and industrial relations.

Lorrie, her husband Michael, and their dog Isabel live in Massillon. They have two grown daughters and six grandchildren. She is a member of the Massillon and McKinley Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Tax Update
Presented by Jeff Walters and George Schueller, CBIZ MHM, LLC

Jeff Walters is a Managing Director of the Northeast Ohio offices of CBIZ MHM, LLC, one of the nationís leading providers of accounting, tax, and business advisory services. He is also a shareholder in Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C., Certified Public Accountants. His practice includes providing tax, consulting, merger & acquisition, succession planning, and other business advisory services to closely-held businesses. Jeff has assisted numerous companies in seeking investment capital, tax incentives and financing alternatives. He has over 30 years of experience in working with entrepreneurial businesses including start-up, developmental stage, and growth companies.

Jeff has taken leadership roles in a number of business and charitable organizations and is active in promoting taxation and business issues through advocacy roles in organizations such as the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, Greater Akron Chamber, Greater Cleveland Partnership, and Ohio Small Business Council. He serves on the College of Business Advancement Council for the University of Akron and the Board of Directors for a number of organizations including the Ohio Chamber, Greater Akron Chamber and Stark State College. He is also a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs, Institute of Management Accountants, American Institute of CPAs, Ohio State Bar Association, and Akron Bar Association.

George A. Schueller is a Manager at CBIZ where he focuses his practice on state and local tax (SALT) matters. Prior to joining CBIZ MHM, he spent over 25 years performing and supervising audits, assisting taxpayers, researching, and resolving tax issues for the Ohio Department of Taxation in the Income/Franchise Tax and Personal Property Tax Sections. George also has more than 25 years of college teaching experience, including undergraduate accounting and graduate tax classes. He is a frequent lecturer on Ohio tax matters.

George's expertise is in SALT compliance and review services, including multi-state clients with operations throughout the United States. He has provided research and planning services on various SALT issues, including income, sales and use, and personal property tax matters. He has also conducted comprehensive nexus studies and Voluntary Disclosure Agreements (VDAs) for several large multi-state clients, resulting in successful strategies and substantial tax savings for a number of clients.
