Overtime and Other Wage and Hour Issues
Presented by Robert J. McBride, Esq., Day Ketterer

Robert J. McBride, Esq., is a member of Day Ketterer’s Education Law and Labor and Employment Practice Groups. With more than 20 years of legal experience focusing on employment law, civil rights defense, labor relations, general civil litigation and construction law, Bob represents clients including large publicly held corporations, public school districts and small family-owned businesses.

His experience includes negotiating collective bargaining agreements and labor arbitrations, and advising clients on compliance with statutes such as the Ohio Public Employees’ Collective Bargaining Act, the National Labor Relations Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. He represents clients before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the Ohio Unemployment Compensation Review Commission, the United States Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division, the National Labor Relations Board, and the State Employment Relations Board.

Bob works diligently to avoid costly litigation by providing proactive advice to clients on compliance with civil rights laws covering race, sex, national origin, religion, age, disability, genetic information, family and medical leave, and veteran status.

FirstPlay and Hall of Fame Volunteer Strategy
Presented by Laura Weisgarber, ICAN Incorporated

Laura Weisgarber is the Finance Director at ICAN Incorporated (dba. ICAN Housing). ICAN Housing helps persons with psychiatric disabilities obtain housing in order to live independently and advance in their personal recovery. The agency's goal is to develop permanent supportive housing for persons with mental disabilities to end their homelessness. Prior to joining ICAN, Laura was a Controller for V & S Schuler Engineering, Inc and a Business Analyst at Diebold Incorporated.

Laura is an active volunteer in the community. Her volunteer activities include Past-President, Canton Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants and Finance Committee Member for Domestic Violence Project Incorporated.

Laura serves as the Ambassador Committee Chairman for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. She has also served as a Security Committee Member for the Pro Football Hall of Fame for 15 years and has volunteered for various enshrinement events to assist with crowd control and protecting the public.
