Tax Opportunities under the New Tangible Property Regulations
Presented by Rosalind Edwards

Rosalind Edwards is a Tax Director in the Northeast Ohio offices of CBIZ MHM, LLC, one of the nation's leading providers of accounting, tax and business advisory services. She brings more than 30 years of diverse tax expertise to a variety of clients, specializing in manufacturing, retail, real estate, technology and distribution. Her focus lies in closely held businesses and their owners and includes providing tax consulting, tax compliance and planning, tax research, IRS Audits and tax controversy, pass-through entity tax, mergers and acquisitions and tax accounting methods.

She provides advisory services to clients in areas such as the domestic production deduction, inventory capitalization, tangible property regulations, depreciation methods and lives, like kind exchanges, reorganizations and partnership issues. Roz presented at the University of Akron 2014 National Tax Conference on the IRC 263 Tangible Property Regulations.

Roz has taken many leadership roles in the Akron community. Roz is the immediate past President and member of the Leadership Akron Alumni Board, and the President of the Cascade Capital Board. She has served on many charitable boards and committees including the Project Learn Board, Akron Art Museum Finance Committee, American Cancer Society Board, CBIZ Women’s Advantage Committee and the Saint Joseph Finance Committee.

Roz is a graduate of the University of Akron with a B.S. in Accounting and a Masters in Taxation.

Lean Manufacturing and the Impact on Accounting
Presented by Dave Gingrich

David Gingrich was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Lauren International in 2002. He joined Lauren in 1997 as Assistant Treasurer and went on to become Director of Finance for Lauren Manufacturing in 1998. In his role as chief financial officer at Lauren, Gingrich holds management responsibilities for the company’s finance, information technology and accounting functions.

With more than 30 years’ experience in accounting and finance, Gingrich spearheaded Lauren’s Lean Accounting concept to support their Lean Manufacturing process. Gingrich’s approach to Lean Accounting enables Lauren to better capture the performance of all their business unit operations, and positively impact the company’s accounting, control, measurement and management processes.

Prior to joining Lauren International, he served in financial management positions at companies located around Ohio. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Mount Union College and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Ashland University. A native of Canton, Gingrich first joined the Canton chapter of IMA in 1976 and subsequently was active in the Ohio Mid-Eastern chapter serving in various capacities including two different terms as chapter President.
