President's Letter

Dear Canton IMA Members,

Where has the summer gone, let alone the Fall? Are you ready for Holiday dinners, Christmas lights, and SNOW? Most importantly, have you met your CPE requirements for the year? I hope you have, but on the fairly good chance that you haven’t, use the IMA as your source!

First, come to our final Technical Session of the year to earn two hrs of CPE presented by David Kaminski from the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce and Gus Dria from the Canton Health Department.

Please do not forget to verify the location of our Technical Sessions before turning on auto pilot and winging your way to Skyland Pines! In an effort to be more accessible to our members from Ohio Mid-Eastern and surrounding counties, we will alternate between Skyland Pines and McCall’s Restaurant and Banquet center. Times and meal options will remain the same so you simply have to show up at the right location!

Second, visit and go to the Learning Center to attend free online webinars or purchase CPE (even meeting the ethics requirement) at significant member discounts!

Thank you to all attendees of our community service project at the Akron Canton Food Bank early in November! Our great turn out and impact will be discussed elsewhere in the newsletter.

We also had a very thought provoking evening of learning on the JM Smucker campus in October where the Tucker Marshall VP of Financial Planning and Analysis shared insight on shareholder value and ROIC.

Stay tuned for more special events and feel free to send me suggestions for topics or formats that you think would be beneficial!

Happy Holidays!

Jesse Allison, President

Chapter Recognition:
Canton IMA Helps Hungry Families

A total of 16 volunteers from the Canton IMA, including students from Mount Union and Ashland volunteered at the Akron Canton Foodbank on Saturday, November 1. They were part of a team that packed 11,760 pounds of food. That food was estimated to provide 9,800 meals in the upcoming week at various locations throughout the Canton and Akron area. Watch for future opportunities to assist in a community effort that makes a difference to many individuals.
