Message from the President

Can you believe Thanksgiving has already come and gone?! Are you ready for Christmas dinners, lights, and SNOW (I’m pretty sure I saw some before Thanksgiving)?

Most importantly, have you met your CPE requirements for the year? I hope you have, but in case you are a procrastinator like me, use the IMA as your source! First, come to our final Technical Session of the year to earn two hrs of CPE presented by Lori Goodnight from the Bureau or Workers Comp and Happiness Coach Jim Smith (yes, it will be worth coming just to find out what a happiness coach does!). Second, visit www.imanet.org and go to the Learning Center to attend free online webinars or purchase CPE (even meeting the ethics requirement) at significant member discounts!

We’ve already had a great start to the year, learning about the creative business model employed by Flight Test (and flying model planes!), great career advice for students and young professionals provided by Progressive at Student Night, and an in depth look at our Social Security system. We look forward to seeing you at sessions throughout the rest of the year which will cover tax updates, tax strategies employed by “mineral rights millionaires”, and a local mortgage lending update.

New news must also include the announcement that in place of our 50/50 drawing, for which you had to purchase a ticket each month, we will now automatically be entering everyone in a drawing for a $25 restaurant gift card! You have to attend and you’ll have pretty good odds!

Happy Holidays!

Jesse Allison, CPA, President JesseAllison@HowardHanna.com

2015-2016 Program/Roster

In case you haven’t been perusing our website, or haven’t noticed that you didn’t receive a hard copy of our program book, we would like to make you aware of an exciting technological leap forward that Canton IMA has made!

Board member Dylan Curtis, website designer Jacq Connect, and other board members have worked over the summer to create an electronic version of our program book available at http://cantonima.org/program/.

We believe this development will make our annual information and historical data more easily accessible to more people, members and otherwise, and after the initial investment, create a more easily maintained solution for our program book!

From the home page you can simply click on the Program/Roster menu option which will take you to an intuitive table of contents from which can check chapter history, awards, student chapter information, Canton chapter and Akron chapter events, board member contact information, member roster, our faithful advertisers and anything else you would have used the hard copy book for.

If you have any feedback or improvement opportunities after reviewing it, please don't hesitate to send me an email at JesseAllison@HowardHanna.com.
